Early next week we’ll be releasing a newly designed confirmation email for participants who register for events via ChronoTrack Live.

WHY THE CHANGE?

The new design is a simpler layout that’s easier to read, particularly on mobile devices (where over half of most events’ participants are now reading their emails).

WHAT’S NEW?

The mobile-first design displays in one column (vs two columns in the past), allowing the reader to easily scroll through the sections to find the information they’re looking for.

We’ve replaced hypertext links in the old version with large, brightly colored buttons with clear calls-to-action for quick reference for your athletes. This will make it easier to find additional information, as well as encourage more participants to share your events and redeem coupons (email studies consistently show that buttons get higher click through rates than links).

The changes will be made to all confirmation emails both in the US and for our international events. The content will be in English-only, initially. We’ll keep you updated as the emails evolve in the future.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Nothing! The content that populated your old confirmation emails is the same content that will populate this new design. So business as usual.

BASIC EVENT INFO

While our team had their fun creating a fictitious confirmation email, yours can have your own event branding at the top of the email, just like you do today. The same event information that went into your old emails will populate here. The event website link you enter during event creation will now link from the “Event Details” button.

SERIES EVENT INFO

If someone has registered for multiple events in your series in one transaction, here’s a sample of what they would see in their email (again, with your branding at the top).

REFER A FRIEND & ORDER SUMMARY

We’ve moved the refer a friend section higher up in the email to help with organic event growth via your existing participants. The prominent placement above the order summary and the large call to action button should help kick-start your registrations. The order summary is simple, yet itemizes fees clearly so there’s no question what your participants have paid for.

TEAM CAPTAINS

This section for team captains is simple and easy to understand, allowing a captain to easily manage his/her team(s) from their confirmation email at any time. If the email recipient isn’t a team captain, this section won’t display.

COUPON CODES

Many organizers like to offer coupon codes for other events. It can often be difficult to get people to redeem coupons. (This is an issue across all of e-commerce, not just endurance events). We’ve treated this section with a different design and color scheme to help engage your customers and drive more conversions.

ATHLETE UPDATES & EMAIL FOOTER

Athlete updates continue to become more and more popular with friends and family. Participants can refer back to their confirmation email at any time to update which friends and family they want to send text messages to, and whether or not they want to post event-day updates to Facebook and Twitter.

The footer of the email currently shows both the Athlinks and ChronoTrack logos, matching what the customer sees within the registration path. As we evolve the Athlinks brand we will move the full athlete experience to the Athlinks brand.
