Get ready, ChronoTrack timers—we have an exciting and money-saving new feature headed your way. Remote monitoring and control functionality will roll out this spring, beginning with the Pro 2. (Mini and Boxscore 3 systems will benefit from remote capabilities in the near future.)

What does remote monitoring and control even mean, and why does it matter? Remote capabilities allow timers to use ChronoTrack’s high-end timing equipment to obtain the most accurate results in the industry, while being able to monitor and control key components directly from any laptop with Internet access. This means you no longer need seasoned help at every split point to know if something goes wrong (and how to fix it).

Instead, you have visibility into what’s going on with all of your controllers in the field from the convenience of your laptop. You (or any experienced timer) can oversee multiple less experienced—and therefore less expensive—timers who man the split points. Plus, one experienced timer can monitor and control Pro 2s at multiple events, simultaneously.

This bird’s eye view of everything going on in the field gives you (or your lead timer) peace of mind that everything is running smoothly. And if an issue does arise, you can either fix it remotely or reach out to the person manning the controller to give guidance on the fix—again, all from the convenience of your remote location.

The specific factors that can be controlled with our remote capabilities include:

Remote Monitoring:
• Online/Offline Status
• Event/Point Name
• Battery/Power Status
• Antenna Status
• Immediate Mode On/Off
• Wifi Power On/Off
• GPRS Power On/Off

Remote Control:
• Change Point Name on Controller
• Change Event Name on Controller
• Turn Immediate Mode ON/OFF
• Turn Wifi Power ON/OFF
• Turn GPRS Power ON/OFF
• Modify Reader Configuration
• Set Remote Marker
• See and Acknowledge Alerts

For those of you currently using Pro 2 controllers, remote monitoring and control is the best way to grow your businesses without needing to hire and train costly, experienced staff to support your events—and without having to travel to each race venue yourself. We’re eager to have you try out our new remote capabilities, and experience first-hand how this new ChronoTrack offering will enhance your business. If you’re a current Pro 2 user and would like to take part in our remote monitoring and control beta test, contact Pam Wilder at Pam Wilder at PWilder@lifetimefitness.com.

And for Mini and Boxscore 3 users, stay tuned—remote capabilities to improve your timing experience and increase your bottom line are also on the way!
